Despite the recent inactivity of this blog, Cyclinic has been very busy of late, with many one-on-one clinics being conducted these holidays. We are also looking at some full-day clinics to be held in early 2010, around all the summer racing (of course!).
The Cyclinic crew will be away several weekends throughout the summer in order to race the MTBA National Series. For more information on the series, please visit this link.

Lady Clinic
Last weekend, Cyclinic held a women's clinic—basically a bunch of crazy ladies in the dirt.
It was a lot of fun, with Kathy generously offering up her house as the Cyclinic base camp for the half-day clinic.
All the women showed vast improvements in their skills, with particular cartwheeling skills exhibited by Kathy, Jen and Anna.
Peace out to Sol Breads for some good tucker!

Cyclinic—June 21 2009
Last weekend marked the debut Cyclinic for the QLD region. Braving mud, rain and prehaps even sleet, 15 keen mountain-bikers hit the trails for a day of skills...and plenty of mud!
Everyone improved on the day, with the group learning how to 'drop in' vertically, monohop, huck off stuff, practice their tight slalom cornering skills (in a pool of mud) and much more.
Some photos of the day can be found below, with more to be posted in the near future. Thanks to Rob Eva for making the trip north, in the lovely weather, as well as to Aiden Lefmann, Donna Dall and Glenn Stewart. Also a big thanks to our chef Matt!
The punishing race-lap climb...conquered!
Chris drops in.
Max shows off his new skills.
Jo masters the slippery corners!
Gary cruising around the muddy track.

Cyclinic this weekend—Karingal, Mt Cotton
This weekend marks the debut of the Queensland Cyclinic series of skill clinics, and should be a hoot! We're getting really excited just planning it!
The clinic is being run Sunday, 21st June at the Karingal mountain-biking track, Mt Cotton.
This clinic, we have super XC racer, Glenn Stewart, coming along to show us how it's supposed to be done!
Glenny Boy up a nasty pinch during an XC race.
Glenn has a wealth of experience, having raced at national and at World Champ's level as a junior. More recently, Glenn has been a member of the national Cannondale team, and the KOM MTB Race Team.
A map to the from Brisbane CBD to the Cyclinic site cam be found below:

• MTBA License, if you don't have a current MTBA License and haven't paid for one when signing up, you will have to purchase a day license on the day of the skills clinic, no exceptions!;
• comfortable clothes for cycling (remember it's a bit chilly in the mornings and afternoons at the moment!); and,
• a sense of adventure!
For those who have registered, see you there at 8.45am sharp for registration, ready for a 9am kick-off.

Mt Crosby Sunshine Series
April 26 marked the fourth round of the Sunshine Series XC (cross-country) round, hosted by Kenmore Cycle Club and held out at their Mt Crosby race course.
The day prior, the club enlisted Cyclinic coach Aiden Lefmann along with other notable QLD XC riders to run a two-hour junior skills development morning, to get the kids comfortable with the challenging course.
It was no wonder then, when the juniors put in an impressive effort, showing that there's a strong future for the sport in the coming years!
Cyclinic riders, Aiden Lefmann, Glenn Stewart and Anna Beck all raced the gruelling 6km course, which consisted of long, open grassy climbs, technical rock gardens, steep pinches and steep (but fun) chutes.
Aiden Lefmann, skills guru, managed to hold his series lead, taking the win over Mark Frendo with a comfortable margin. Dave Whitney came in third, with out Glenn riding in fourth.
In the women's race, it was a tousle between Anna Beck and Connie Silvestri, but eventually Connie proved the stronger woman, with Anna coming in second—holding the series lead—with Jo Rowall in third.

Cyclinic things
Tomorrow is the next race in the 2009 Sunshine Series, and is being held at Mt Crosby.
Headed out there today, and the course is quite fun. A few tricky rocks and things that cyclinic would help smooth out for any rider, no doubt.
Results will be posted tomorrow.
